We believe one day, no one will lose their life to breast cancer. Help achieve this goal by leaving us a gift in your Will.

Leaving a gift for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ (BCFNZ) in your Will is a very special, long-lasting act of kindness that will make a positive difference in the future of our mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends.

We receive no government funding so a gift like this, no matter how big or small, is an exceptional way to ensure your kindness lives on, saving women’s lives long after you have gone.

You can be assured that your gift will support women like Jayne, who was diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram in October 2020, at the age of 47.

Jayne says it was a traumatic and whirlwind time, but BCFNZ has made a huge difference.

“The nurses were amazing at providing advice and support, as well as counselling and physiotherapy. I didn’t realise how the surgery would affect my body, so the physio and rehabilitation Pilates classes were a huge help. The mybc app was another great resource to engage with others who were on the same journey as me.”

I have decided to leave BCFNZ a gift in my Will, how do I go about doing it correctly?: We highly recommend talking to your legal advisor or organisations that have an online Will generator. Consulting an expert is the best way to ensure your intentions are reflected accurately and carried out.

How will my gift be used?: Your gift will be used to achieve our shared goal of zero deaths from breast cancer, through investment in our early detection, research, and support programmes.

Can I support a specific project with my gift?: Yes, we can accommodate some gifts of this nature. We encourage you to discuss this with us first to ensure that we can effectively meet your wishes and your gift is used in the way you would like us to use it.

I’ve already written my Will, do I have to do a new one?: No, you don’t. Talk to your legal advisor about making an addition to your existing Will to reflect the charitable gift you wish to make.

Do I need to tell BCFNZ that I have left them a gift?: This is entirely up to you. You are welcome to keep your planned gift to yourself. Or if you wish to tell us, this means we can thank you now for the gift you intend to make and acknowledge your desire to make a positive difference for the thousands of women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the future.

How can my family and friends find out about my gift once it has been donated?: We encourage you to consider a friend or family member who we can communicate with once your gift is realised. We will regularly communicate with this person on how your funds have been used and how we have honoured your gift.
