Mr Ronald Kay has an MBChb, University of Otago, Fellow Royal College of Surgeons of England and Fellow Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Ron Kay has been a trustee of The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation for 15 years. As an inaugural trustee, he established and chaired The Foundation's Medical Advisory Committee for its first six years. During this period, Ron helped establish the very high ethical standards which are a hallmark of The Foundation's policies to this day.
Ron was also a founding member of the Auckland Breast Cancer Study group that developed an Auckland Regional Patient Register. The Register was designed to record all aspects of detection and treatment of breast cancer patients in Auckland.
Ron has also been very active in clinical trial groups and international worldwide networking, which has helped The Foundation in fulfilling its charitable purpose to support all aspects of breast cancer research, treatment, and to provide support facilities for those suffering from the disease.
