James Hurman 

James Hurman is the founder and principal of Auckland innovation consultancy Previously Unavailable.

Previously Unavailable is the first company of its kind in New Zealand and works with many of the country’s leading corporate, public and start-up organisations, helping them create more successful product and customer experience innovations.
His company was formed in 2014 after a career in advertising. In 2013 James was named the world’s #1 advertising strategist, renowned globally for his successes with highly innovative and effective communications campaigns.
James is an energetic member of the Auckland innovation and entrepreneurship sectors. He’s a mentor of the Icehouse’s ‘Lightening Lab’ startup accelerator programme. He works with a number of public sector Auckland organisations around building Auckland’s future. And he hosts the Seafarer’s Members Club’s ‘Conversations at Sea’ series of live interview events with innovative New Zealanders.
James’ 2010 book, ‘The Case for Creativity’ demonstrated the link between creativity and business success, and was described by The Coca Cola Company as ‘beautiful words of wisdom’.
