Internships at NZBCF

Internships at The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation provide a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a small but busy office. You’ll have the chance to apply what you have learnt in the classroom and to develop your knowledge and skills in a non-profit environment.

By working in a small organisation you can guarantee you’ll make a huge difference and impact on the work we do. You’ll have the opportunity to see how a project comes together and what differences it can make to the lives of NZ women.

We have regular intakes of interns twice a year (starting in March and August) and we have a number of positions covering various aspects of our work including fundraising, marketing, project management, recruitment, volunteer management, events and communications.

Current positions available:

More internship opportunities will be available in 2017, please email fundraising@nzbcf.org.nz to express your interest.

Previous Interns

Jaimi Bailey
Jaimi joined us in 2013 to help with our Pink Ribbon Street Appeal. She enjoyed her time here so much she never left! Jaimi is now our Pink Ribbon Street Appeal Manager and looks forward to working with future interns on one of our largest fundraising campaigns of the year.

To complete my degree in management and marketing at AUT I joined The NZBCF as an intern for the Pink Ribbon Street Appeal and loved it! Being part of a small team allowed me to be involved with the development and implementation of all aspects of the Pink Ribbon Street Appeal whilst applying what I had studied to a variety of different tasks. After finishing my internship I was offered a permanent role and now run the Pink Ribbon Street Appeal. Completing my co-op at The NZBCF was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend- it will be busy, often fast paced but very rewarding.

Emma Steven
Emma joined us in March 2014 to help with our Pink Ribbon Breakfast Campaign. She ended up staying until November 2014 helping us with Pink Star Walk and other October events. Emma has since gone back to university to complete her honours.

I joined The NZBCF as an intern helping out on the Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign - what a fantastic experience! I had the opportunity to work on so many different things, from social media and eDMs to logistics, registrations and direct contact with the participants who were organizing their breakfasts. As a small charity with a big presence throughout NZ, The NZBCF is the perfect place for interns who are looking to gain the experience of working in a real-world environment, whilst being able to have a direct influence on the success of the project.
